Receiving a load under Digital Waste Tracking
A three-minute walkthrough of a load arriving at a permitted site and being recorded for the Digital Waste Tracking Service — from the waste details through to the reference coming back from Defra.
What you'll see
- Choosing the receiving site, then entering the waste item — code, description, form, quantity
- Recording an estimated or an actual weight, with the paper transfer note and weighbridge ticket references
- Selecting the carrier and their registration, and the vehicle
- Confirming receipt, and the record going to Defra with a reference returned
Digital waste tracking is mandatory for permitted sites in England and Wales from 1 October 2026. Every load received has to be its own record, submitted within two working days.
